Aircraft Spins Out of Control into Palm Trees at Popular California Beach
An aircraft hovering over a well-attended coastal shoreline abruptly commenced twirling wildly, eventually dropping height and plunging into a cluster of palm trees as onlookers watched.
Footage shared on social media show the helicopter commencing to spiral above Huntington Beach then descending in the direction of the border of the beach, where it becomes wedged among palm groves and a set of stairs near the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Update
Local firefighters said five individuals were transported to a medical facility including a pair who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the crash on the weekend.
Three people on the pavement were hurt. Specifics on their injuries were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.
