Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr has said sorry to the fanbase for his response when replaced in the recent heated match against Barcelona triumph.
He was replaced in the second half and showed his disappointment by walking immediately to the dressing room.
The Brazilian eventually reappeared to the dugout and, following his team's narrow triumph, attempted to approach Barcelona's opposing player during unsavoury after the game exchanges.
"Today I want to apologise to all the Real Madrid fans for my response when I was substituted in the derby," he shared on his account.
"Similarly to I have previously expressed during this morning's practice, I wish to say sorry once more to my teammates, the organization, and the leadership.
"At times passion gets the better of me because I continuously aim to triumph and support my side. My competitive character comes from the love I hold for this team and all it symbolizes."
Vinicius joined Real from Brazil in recent years for £38.7m and has scored 111 goals in more than 300 games.
But his prospects in the Spanish capital is unclear with rumors in lately suggesting that Real would consider permitting the 25-year-old leave if they were to receive a good proposal.
When Vinicius was substituted on Sunday, broadcast footage from network the platform captured him stating: "It's always me! I'm exiting the club! It's better if I go, I'm leaving."
In his most recent statement on X, he commented: "I commit to keep battling at all times for the benefit of Los Blancos, as I have performed since the first day."
