In “It’s a Deal”, a look back reveals that fan-favorite character Alastor, the Radio Demon was a serial killer in his human life. Being aware he was headed to the underworld, he made contact with the realm beyond beforehand to obtain a powerful role in Hell. The charismatic leader, the charismatic leader Hell’s cannibal community, promised Alastor he would become “the strongest Condemned Soul in Hell” in return for his eternal spirit.

This prompts an important query: How is this character sufficiently strong to elevate Alastor over every other Demonic Sinners?

“The agreement between Rosie and Alastor is the first stepping stone in a much bigger story that encompasses a great deal, leading into season 3,” the creator states. “Obviously that is a perfect question: How is she that powerful? The solution might be many things, but the answer is in season 3. I am thrilled for fans to witness it.”

There’s no telling the duration viewers will have to wait for Hazbin Hotel’s next season. The studios have approved seasons 3 and 4, but the creator often remarks that animation is a time-consuming endeavor, and later seasons are undated. Nevertheless, she states holding off on specific information is an important part of maintaining season 2’s focus where it belongs.

“The challenge of any agreement with infernal beings, or stories that have enigmas, is providing people just enough information to be like, Something's up here, and then unveiling that as we go, and letting that be gratifying,” she says. “So I'm very excited.”

Questions Answered in The Next Season

The creator assures that the upcoming season will tackle the queries followers have been asking, such as why the cannibal leader commanded Alastor to vanish for seven years, which weakened his power in Hell.

“The entire seven-year span, and the deals these individuals are doing, and all that — it's feeding into a larger story,” she says.

In the meantime, the origin story episode provides another glimpse into how the main characters of Demonic Sinners looked like as humans, the second after seeing Sir Pentious’ historical mortal appearance in the second episode. She explains that significant consideration was put into the visual creation of these forms.

“The human versions of the characters hold so much weight,” she says. “They vary from appearing quite distinct from their demon form to looking very similar. With Pentious, the first one we see, there was a little bit of a debate internally between choosing something that symbolizes the personality, as opposed to selecting something that's historically correct. We leaned toward making something that just seemed like it was him.”

She mentions the biggest debate over the mortal look of Pentious was his lengthy locks: “We were like, ‘No one typically had extended hair of that style in that historical period.’ But simultaneously, we think the silhouette is so important, and we also just thought he appeared attractive. We were like, ‘This just feels right.’ We kind of provided the rationale that he lived in seclusion, so he just allowed his hair to lengthen. So there's always a way. As we create the human versions of these personas […] it's such a fun thing to explore and determine. I am looking forward for fans to view additional of what the human forms look like.”
